U-Visa & T-Visa Psychological Evaluations in RGV & Texas

Clinical Evidence for Survivors of Crime and Trafficking

If you have been the victim of a serious crime or human trafficking in the United States, you may be eligible for legal status through U-Visa or T-Visa. These visas are designed to protect survivors who assist law enforcement while providing a pathway to safety and healing.

A professional Immigration Psychological Evaluation is often the cornerstone of these applications. It translates your personal experience into the clinical, evidence-based language that USCIS adjudicators need to see.

U-Visa: Documenting Substantial Mental Abuse

To qualify for a U-Visa, you must show that you suffered "substantial physical or mental abuse" as a result of a qualifying crime (such as domestic violence, felony assault, or sexual abuse).

My evaluations provide objective proof of this harm by:

  • Identifying and diagnosing trauma-related disorders, directly linked to the victimization. such as PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, or Anxiety.
  • Quantifying the Impact by using standardized testing to show how the crime has impaired your ability to work, sleep, and maintain relationships when needed.
  • Explaining barriers to testimony by helping the court understand how trauma can affect memory or make it difficult to speak with law enforcement.

T-Visa: Proving Extreme Hardship and Trafficking Impact

For survivors of human trafficking (labor or sex trafficking), a T-Visa evaluation documents the severe emotional and psychological toll of exploitation.

In these cases, I focus on:

  • The Psychology of Coercion: Explaining how force, fraud, or coercion were used to maintain control
  • Extreme Hardship: Documenting why returning to your home country would cause "unusual and severe harm," including lack of access to mental health care or the risk of re-traumatization
  • Functional Impairment: Describing the long-term mental health consequences of trafficking and the necessity of continued support in the U.S.

                                                                         Frequently Asked Questions

It refers to the significant emotional and psychological injury caused by being a victim of a crime. My evaluation documents this through the clinical interviews and specialized testing when needed to provide a formal diagnosis and a clear correlation between the crime and your current mental state. While your lawyer handles the legal arguments, I provide the clinical evidence. A psychological evaluation provides a professional diagnosis and objective proof of trauma that can significantly increase the credibility and strength of your application.

We move at your pace. While I need to understand the impact of the event to write a strong report, my process is trauma-informed. This means I prioritize your safety and strive to prevent re-traumatization during our sessions.

Yes. Your privacy is protected by law. Your evaluation is confidential and is only shared with your attorney and immigration officials as part of your application.  With your written permission, I can send the final report directly to your immigration attorney to ensure it is integrated into your legal filing before your deadline.
