Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How long does a psychological evaluation for immigration take in Texas?

Typically, there are two to five sessions, each session from 45 minutes to one hour and one-half, with breaks in between. I offer expedited services for all my clients, including RGV residents and statewide clients via telehealth.  Most of my reports are ready on the day of the evaluation.

What is an LPA?

An LPA is a Licensed Psychological Associate.  There are two types of LPAs - one requires supervision by a Licensed Psychologist and the other has independent practice.

Which type of license do you have?  My license allows me to practice independently.

What can an LPA with Independent Practice do?

An LPA with Independent Practice can do everything a psychologist can do except conduct child custody or adoption evaluations, competency or insanity evaluations, or fitness for duty evaluations for law enforcement personnel, unless under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist.

Are you able to test in Spanish?

Yes, I am able to conduct assessments in Spanish.  However, the psychological evaluation report will be in English.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take any type of insurance at this time.

Do you have a specialty?

Although I also have a license as a counselor, my specialization is conducting psychological evaluations.  In addition to Immigration Psychological Evaluations for USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), I also specialize in mental health clearances for bariatric surgery.
