Asylum Psychological Evaluations in the RGV & Texas

Asylum seeker psychological assessment in McAllen, Texas

Documenting Trauma and Persecution for Your Asylum Claim

Seeking asylum is a brave and often a difficult journey. To succeed in your Political Asylum case, you must demonstrate a well-founded fear of persecution based on your race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

A professional Asylum Psychological Evaluation is a critical piece of evidence. It goes beyond your testimony to provide objective, clinical proof of the trauma you have endured and the psychological impact of returning to your home country.

The Role of a Psychological Evaluation in Asylum Cases

Many asylum seekers struggle with memory gaps or difficulty speaking about their experiences due to trauma. My role is to translate these clinical realities into a report that USCIS and immigration judges can use to understand your case.

  • Corroborating Your Story: Documenting symptoms of PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression that are consistent with your history of persecution.
  • Explaining Memory and Recall: Helping adjudicators understand how trauma affects the brain and why some details may be difficult to remember.
  • Assessing Future Risk: Providing a clinical perspective on the psychological harm you would likely face if you were forced to return.

A Safe Process Focused on Your Well-Being

As a telehealth provider, I have worked with survivors from the Rio Grande Valley and around the world. I prioritize your safety and comfort at every step.

  1. Trauma-Informed Interviews: I conduct 3-5 sensitive interviews where you set the pace. We only discuss what is necessary for your case.
  2. Bilingual Support:  I offer evaluations in Spanish to ensure your story is told accurately in your native language.
  3. Comprehensive Report: You will receive a detailed report (8-15 pages) that includes your history, diagnostic impressions, and clinical findings.

Serving the RGV and All of Texas

Whether you are currently in a RGV community like McAllen, Brownsville, or Harlingen, or you are located elsewhere in Texas, I can help. I offer secure Telehealth evaluations for clients statewide.

                                                                         Frequently Asked Questions

While your lawyer handles the legal arguments, I provide the clinical evidence. A psychological evaluation provides a professional diagnosis and objective proof of trauma that can significantly increase the credibility and strength of your application.

Yes. Persecution often leaves "hidden wounds." Psychological trauma is just as valid as physical evidence in an asylum case. My evaluation focuses on your mental and emotional state, which is a powerful way to document the "extreme cruelty" or persecution you experienced.

With your written permission, I can send the final report directly to your immigration attorney to ensure it is integrated into your legal filing before your deadline.
